Description

This is the ATmega328P chip pre-programmed with the Official Arduino UNO bootloader (optiboot).

This chip + bootloader is supported by the official Arduino 0020 release and up

The new optiboot bootloader occupies only 512 bytes and uploades sketches faster (115200 baud).

Capacity:

32256 bytes available for sketches (previously 30720 bytes)
2K RAM
1K EEPROM

You need to select "Arduino UNO" board in the Arduino IDE tools menu (Arduino 0020 and up).

You can also use this chip in the Duemilanove and Freeduino boards and gain more flash capacity and sketch upload speed. Just select Arduino UNO board in the Arduino IDE tools menu.

Important notice: This chip has the same exact bootloader as provided with the current Arduino UNO board, to keep 100% compatibility. The current bootloader has a limitation that cannot write sketches greater than 30270 bytes. This chip can be used to replace the ATmega328 chip on the Arduino UNO board or install it in older or freeduino boards to upload sketches faster.
